The talk titled, "Why Do They Need to Go to the Transporter Room, Anyway?" or Recognizing Outdated Process Thinking, is a lively, thought provoking look at the underpinnings of the structures used in many business processes. This talk challenges some basic and dearly held assumptions about what's important in the development of well engineered, customer focused systems. Brian has presented this talk as a Keynote Speech as well as variations on the same theme at numerous GIGA Business Process and Workflow Conference in the USA and other countries.

The talk titled, "Creating Customer Focused Organizations" is a distillation of the core ideas in Brian's book of the same name. This talk peels away the myths and misconceptions that hinder our true understanding of the nature of our business processes (and the terabytes of data they use). This engaging talk offers an alternative engineering approach to finally solving the inherent problems of modern systems development. Brian has presented this at numerous government and private organizations.

The talk titled, "The Synthesis of Information Analysis and Business Events", offers a new way to model systems (business processes and their data) using fundamentally new concepts for modeling and designing data oriented, human and computer-based systems.  This is essentially a new engineering discipline that paves the way for creating unbeatable new systems that are easy to use, maintain, and modify, as business needs change.  This new approach shows how to look at our core information needs from the point of view of seamlessly satisfying our customers as quickly as possible. The talk will also offer a new structure to replace our existing, rigid hierarchical structures (that make us unresponsive) with a type of organization that can easily respond to its customers needs. Brian created this talk specially for database environments and has given it to professional organizations such as the DAMA in New York.

Brian has conducted keynote and featured speeches at California’s San Diego State University and at the East and West Coast ProjectWorld Conferences. He has also been the featured speaker at the GIGA Business Process & Workflow International Conference and at conferences hosted by the Workflow and Re-Engineering International Association (WARIA). Recently Brian has given talks at DCI/Shared Insights conferences.
