Brian Dickinson is the founder and president of Logical Conclusions, Inc., a training and consulting corporation founded in San Francisco, California in 1981 with a branch office in Blackpool, England. LCI is now based in Arizona and Hawaii.

Mr. Dickinson started his systems career in 1964 in England with British Aircraft Corporation and then worked internationally as an independent consultant. In 1975 he moved to the United States and was one of a handful of people who originally helped spread the system-engineering message across the United States. In this period, Brian published papers and books, developed courses, and led seminars on the emerging System Engineering techniques. Since then, he has consulted and taught globally on the subjects of Software and Information Engineering, Project Management, and Business Engineering. He is a sought after speaker at many national and international business and software conferences.

In 1979, Brian wrote his first book on the subject of System Development Methodologies, which was recognized then as many years ahead of its time. This work was titled: Developing Structured Systems: A Methodology Using Structured Techniques. It was translated into Japanese and it proved to be highly successful. His next book was titled, Developing Quality Systems was published by McGraw Hill in 1989 as part of their Software Engineering Series. After writing Developing Quality Systems, Brian extended his focus into the area of Business Engineering and published Strategic Business Engineering: A Synergy of Software Engineering and Information Engineering in 1992 and Risk-Free Business Re-Engineering in 1996. A revised edition was printed in 1998 titled Creating Customer Focused Organizations.

His latest ebook is titled Managing Event-Driven Organizations to which he brings the perspectives and insights of over decades of experience in working with Events and Event Partitioning and using these concepts around a management methodology for successful organizations. Brian’s works have been recognized by the Best Practices commission of the U.S. Department of Veteran’s Affairs and the Department of Energy’s IMPACT Program for information architecture.

He is also an active participant in the US Citizen Ambassador Program and has represented the United States in China and Russia.

Current Contributions

Brian is continually consulting and teaching both in the U.S. and internationally on the subjects of Business Process and Information Analysis, Project Management, and Event Driven Organizations. He is also a popular international speaker on how to create a Customer-Focused Organization. Brian has conducted keynote and featured speeches at California’s San Diego State University and at the East and West Coast ProjectWorld Conferences. He has also been the featured speaker at the GIGA Business Process & Workflow International Conference and at conferences hosted by the Workflow and Re-Engineering International Association (WARIA). Recently Brian has given talks at DCI/Shared Insights conferences.
